Access Statement for Nurses Cottage

Introduction

We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors to our two bedroom self-catering cottage. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.

Pre-Arrival

Weybridge High Street is 3 minutes walk away with a frequent bus service
The nearest train station is Weybridge a 5 minute car journey or 15-20 minute walk, London Waterloo via Staines or to Reading . Fast trains to London Waterloo are from Walton-on-Thames 8-10 minute's drive – London Waterloo via Surbiton.
There is a local taxi service and we can make a booking for you.
Weybridge High Street has a walk-in Health Centre and a large Library with Internet access. A new shopping precinct has been built in Walton on Thames with High Street stores such as Next, Debenhams, H & M, etc
There are a wealth of fine restaurants, bars and takeaway's in Weybridge, some leaflets in the cottage.

Arrival and Car Parking Facilities

At the cottage there is a driveway for one car and usually parking outside too
The surface is level of flat stone, there is a step at the doorway of 12cms high and another into the threshold of the door being 17cms. The door width 78 cms
We can assist guests with luggage

Internal Information

All rooms are decorated in a light colour to a high standard
Dimmer switches in the lounge/dinning area. Other areas are well lit.
Inside downstairs and upstairs areas are level
All Linen is provided –see website
Food – a starter pack of food - see website
Flowers and plants in the house are also provided
Baby travel cot & high chair is available on request
Sorry, NO PETS
Electronic smoke detectors in all rooms.
Smoking is not permitted (by law) inside. But please use the garden
Fire precaution list available in hall, please keep both back and front doors clear for evacuation
Mobile phone reception is generally good.

The door has a code available on arrival (no key is needed)

On entry to the cottage there is a hallway 2.3m X 3.3 m. High back seating 1.7 m, seat height 46cms, 43 cms square seat.

There is a light oak wood floor in the hall, which is level into the downstairs cloakroom 53 X 65cms floor space, the door width is 63cms with a semi pedestal flat fronted basin 80cms high and the loo height 40cms.

Ground Floor

The lounge/diner has beige wool carpet and level flooring into the kitchen

Flat screen wall mounted television and remote controls for the virgin cable TV system

Art deco style table with main centre support, side extensions supported by gate legs and seats up to 4, table height 74cm . High back dinning chairs 1.7 m, seat height 46cms, 43 cms square seat.

3-seater sofa bed, seat height 33cms.
2 caned bucket chairs, seat height 36cms, 50 cms wide.

The kitchen, which has level ceramic cream, tiles from the lounge access 1.3 wide and door to the garden 76cms wide. A drop down to the garden of 33 cms
The fitted kitchen work surfaces are 91 cms high
The kitchen has spot lighting on the ceiling and under unit lights around the work surface. Which are controlled independently.
Washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, fitted cooker and oven.
No tumble drier but an airier is provided to dry clothes in garden or bathroom

Garden

Accessed from the kitchen to a small courtyard, walled garden (wall is an ancient monument from Henry V111). Museum in Weybridge High Street for more information. Also literature on the History of the wall in the hall.

Upstairs – landing

The staircase, which is, pine wood and fitted with beige wool carpet. Each step has a 19 cm riser,90 cm width treads with 14 steps in a semi spiral turn to the first floor landing (picture on website), the landing, which is L shaped 2.7m length, access width to double room 77 cm and access to single room 95cm width.

2 Bedrooms

Double bedroom –
Access door 70cms, fully carpeted with beige wool carpet
two single beds with an overall height of 39 cm has a thick, firm mattresses.
The distance between the beds is 55 cm. between the side of the bed and wardrobe 75cm. And at the end of the beds 65 cms.

Single bedroom – Access door opening outwards 70cm width. A single sized stacker bed the overall height 60 cms. Has a thick, firm mattress

Designer bathroom and shower

There is a level floor from the hall to the laminate floor into the bathroom. door access is 64cm wide.

A separate shower cubicle within the bathroom with a lip of 12 cms into the shower with bi-folding door with 50cm opening width. Fully tiled and enclosed the dimensions are 78X75 cms. Power Shower.
The double-ended bath is encased in a tiled surround of 2.5m X 89 cms the front edge measures 17 cms before reaching the bath. The bath height is 55 cms.
